However, on the second day, I figured out and adjusted my swing little bit. It seemed as if I was never being able to hit a sweet spot. On the first day, I didn't hit very well with this. I never liked Taylormade (just personal preference) and I wanted something that I could compete against it. I got projectX 6.0 stock shaft and I fell in love with this driver.Īlthough I was very satisfied with Razr Hawk, guys around me started to outdrive me by using Taylormade R11, R1 and such. Straight, low flight, highly recommended. If i can get the ball flight lowered with my Speeder X-stiff shaft, i will definitely put this in the bag. Overall - i like this club, smaller head 445cc than my Cobra 460cc, which allows me to cut or draw the ball easier. I will swap shafts and see if that gives me back the lower ball flight i want.

On Xhot I used the standard Project X 6.0 Stiff, my cobra has Fujikura Speeder 757 X-Stiff. I did notice a significantly higher ball flight(as expected) with the Xhot(9.5) vs Cobra S3(8.5). The one thing i need to correct is my shaft. Slightly less forgiving that my Cobra S3, club not for everyone, but definitely us able for 10 handicap players or lower. I am able to play a cut or draw easily with this club. I(6 handicap) played a round yesterday, on Day 1 with this club I hit 9/13 fairways from the farthest back tee's. Still get decent yardages during off center hits. Performance - Very powerful club, distance is great when struck well. More of a old school traditional design, which I like, maked the golfer do all the work. Only for face angle, open, closed neutral. Looks - 8/10, I do like the Matte Grey crown color, black face, black sole.įeel - Feels strong off the face, yet with a dull sound, very responsive face, club tells you when you've hit it well and when you've hit it slightly off center.Īdjustability - No adjustability when it comes to loft. I've always been a plain black type of guy with one small alignment mark, but the way I hit this thing compared to my R9, I can put up with the graphics on the top.Great Club, recommend for 10 handi players or better.

The only thing I really don't like about it are the graphics on the top. My first trip to the course with it is tomorrow so I'll report back after that. No matter what I did, that thing went straight and the dispersion was pretty tight for a hacker like me. I did try to put a big cut on one, and even it only drifted to the right side of the fairway on the launch monitor. I kept hitting it and every shot was straight down the middle. The spin was 2000rpm's lower than my R9 as well.

This driver is a bit longer than my R9, so I made a little change, moving the ball a bit further up in my stance and the launch angle went to 13* and 254 yards. My first drive was straight down the middle, 246 yards with an 11* launch angle. I hit a few of them (G15, G20, I20, R11S, Rockeballz, and the new Adams) and finally picked up the 10.5* RAZR X with a Motore F8 Regular flex and gave it a swing.

So I grabbed a few other drivers they had laying around to compare to my current R9. So while I'm there hitting, I notice that my launch angle is extremely high (18 degrees) and spin was huge. It just felt dead to me lately, like nothing was going anywhere anymore except high, short and right. I am currently gaming the R9 460 with Aldila DVS60 Stiff flex and have lost all confidence in it when it's in my hands. I have been having some trouble off the tee for about 6 months now, so I went in on the launch monitor to get some numbers and figure some things out.
